Three Flowers That Are Perfect For Summer Dates, Anniversaries And Birthdays

Visiting a florist can be a bit of a mixed bag if you don't know what you are doing, and while the intentions might be good, quite often people will buy flowers that simply don't suit the occasion. Summer is a time where most Australians enjoy being outside in the beauty of nature and seeing all of the beautiful trees, saplings and yes, flowers, blooming. That makes it extra important to choose the right flower for those summery occasions, but what should you be looking for? Here are three types of flowers that should serve as the foundation of any summer bouquet from your florist.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus flowers are not only renowned for their rich colours and great smell but also for their interesting shape, which sets them apart from many other flowers that might have a similar colour. This makes the hibiscus one of the most unique flowers you can choose, and the common variants of red, yellow and purple are all great warm colours that match the temperature and environment of the time. While it probably won't make sense to just get a bouquet of hibiscus, they do serve as a great centre flower that you can build upon with other, less attention-grabbing flowers.

Gladiolus

White is always going to be a safe summer colour, but there is a difference between traditional, plain white and the eye-catching white of some of the more unique flowers. Gladiolus definitely fall into that second category, and they also have a very special meaning, with many associating them with strength and faithfulness. While they might not last as long as some flowers when put into a vase, they make up for it by being exceptionally beautiful and by having a strong message that suits most relationships down to the core.

Petunias

Petunias are a great choice for any new or old relationship, and many people create bouquets of just these flowers because of how vibrant they are and how many different colour combinations you can form. The dark, rich veins that run out from the centre of these flowers can symbolise passion and desire, and you can amplify this by going with a colour also associated with those feelings such as red, violet or pink. These are great for summer because they have large petals and can catch a lot of sunlight, which gives them a little bit of life once they are put into a vase!
